Compatibility matters more than the mount

A camera having a shoe mount does not mean its sensor can see infrared. Confirm that your camera supports IR night mode or is appropriately modified. The retailer specifically says this light requires an infrared camera and cannot function as a normal fill light.

Check the illuminator wavelength, camera sensitivity, accessory clearance and required working distance before purchase. Test the whole scene: bright nearby objects can wash out while the edges remain dark.

Build a usable recording setup
