Research and product selection

Recommendations should consider a reader’s task, existing equipment, controls, power, file handling, included accessories and useful alternatives. A larger bundle or higher price does not automatically make a product a better choice.

Manufacturer documentation is the preferred source for technical specifications. Retailer listings help check the selected model, package, seller and availability. When information conflicts or cannot be confirmed, the article should identify that uncertainty rather than fill the gap with an assumption. Prices and stock can change after a page is checked.

Research is different from hands-on testing
