Today’s moon phase
Approximate phase and illumination calculated from the average lunar cycle. Milestone dates may differ by about a day; the Moon’s orientation depends on your location.
Geomagnetic and solar activity
Kp summarizes global geomagnetic activity on a 0–9 scale. NOAA’s G, R and S scales describe geomagnetic storms, radio blackouts and solar radiation storms. These readings do not predict paranormal activity or guarantee visible aurora at your location.

Plan a more useful night in the field
Wind, rain and temperature changes can affect your comfort, recordings and equipment. Note the conditions in your investigation log, pack suitable lighting, and check local warnings before leaving. This dashboard shows forecasts and space-weather summaries, not emergency alerts.

Why does the weather show a different city?
IP location can point to your internet provider’s network instead of your actual town. Search for your city and choose the correct result to update the forecast. Your selection lasts for this page visit.
How can moonlight help with planning?
A fuller Moon can add natural light when it is above the horizon and the sky is clear. A new Moon offers less moonlight. Cloud cover, terrain and moonrise still matter, so bring a reliable flashlight whichever phase is shown.
How fresh are the readings?
Each panel shows its source timestamp. Weather requests are cached for at least 30 minutes and space weather for 10 minutes. Forecast times are displayed in your browser’s time zone, which may differ from the searched location. Unavailable or older data is identified instead of being shown as a current reading.
City search: Photon by komoot, using © OpenStreetMap contributors. Location estimate: GeoJS. Free public data services may occasionally be unavailable.
How to use local weather for a ghost hunting trip
A useful investigation starts with a plan for the place you are visiting. Use this local weather, moon phase and space weather dashboard to check conditions, then record what you find alongside your field notes.
- Confirm the location. The automatic city is an estimate based on your IP address. If you are traveling or it shows the wrong place, enter your destination in the city search.
- Check the hours you will be outside. Open the 12-hour forecast and review the temperature, wind and forecast rain for your planned visit. Switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius to use the units you prefer.
- Plan your lighting. Review moon illumination alongside cloud cover. Moon phase alone does not tell you how bright a particular site will be. Bring a dependable flashlight and a backup.
- Record conditions with your observations. Note the time, location, weather and any changes during the visit. Keep these notes with your recordings so you have context when reviewing an unusual sound or reading.
Moon phases and space weather: what the dashboard tells you
The lunar panel provides an approximate phase, illumination and upcoming full and new moon dates. It does not show local moonrise or moonset times. Treat it as a planning reference rather than a promise of visibility.
The space weather panel summarizes NOAA geomagnetic and solar activity. Its planetary Kp reading describes global conditions; it is not a local EMF measurement or a predictor of paranormal activity. For explanations and aurora guidance, use the NOAA source links beside the readings.

Add a weather station for readings at home
Avoben Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Weather Station
Want readings from a sensor at your own location? The Avoben 0467DC listing describes a 5.9-inch color display for indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, plus barometric pressure, forecast icons and an atomic clock.
One remote sensor is included; the station supports up to three. Confirm extra-sensor compatibility, power requirements and outdoor placement instructions before ordering.
This is an option for monitoring conditions at home or a fixed base. It does not measure NOAA space weather or detect paranormal activity.
